Umuahia Central ADC candidate congratulates Yoruba winner, pledges support to LP

A defeated African Democratic Congress, ADC candidate in the last March 18, House of Assembly Election for Umuahia Central , Deacon Iyke Nwoke has congratulated the winner, and a Yoruba living in Umuahia, Anthony Chinasa Abiola over his victory.

Addressing the press in his Amuzukwu country home Wednesday afternoon, Deac. Nwoke said he recognizes the victory of Abiola as a step towards the development of the constituency, stating that he will shelve any court action as a way to encourage the development of the constituency.

“There is no point going to court as the Obi wave affected my victory. This is because I want a speedy development and progress of my constituency. I am pledging my support to Abiola to enable my constituency move forward”, he said.

He similarly congratulated Dr. Alex Otti of the Labour Party for cruising to victory, having already won in 10 of the 16 LGAs Guber results already collated, stating, “I ally myself with the wishes of Abians to support Dr. Otti for the peace and progress of the state”, noting “Otti remains the best option for Abians who have been yearning for him”.

He used the opportunity to warn the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC to announce the winner of the Governorship Election and should not circumvent the wishes of Abians in the interest of peace.

He regretted the level of thuggery during the election where his Campaign Director General, Kanu Ndubuisi was severely injured and thanked God for “sparing the lives of my people”.
