The senator representing Abia North at the National Assembly, Orji Uzor Kalu during this yuletide, shared over 30,000 bags of Rice and good sum of Cash to 13 Igbere villages, all OUK movement, APC and Reality Organization in Abia North.
However, an aide to the senator, Emmanuel Odoemelam says, doing such is Kalu’s signature and habit for over 38 years, stating “Henceforth, we advise the agents of false information to cease from spreading rumors that the rice and cash shared by the former governor of Abia State, Orji Kalu are not from his personal pocket. They were given to the people out of the magnanimity and capacity of the Senator representing Abia North senatorial district from his personal pocket.
“The Chairman Senate Committee on Privatization Orji Kalu, is a detribalized global citizen who thinks of humanity first. He has carried everyone along in Abia North.
“The villagers, indigenes and non-indigenes, men, women, youths and children have all felt his impact in his four years of representing Abia North Senatorial District.
“Making the people feel good and giving their lives a meaning is one of the trade marks of Dr. Orji Uzor”.
According to Odoemelam, Kalu had personally supervised the sharing formula to make sure no one or group was short changed, while the palliatives are personally funded.
“This is a routine he has consistently done for his people for 38 good years back to back right from 1986, without looking back even when he wasn’t in politics.
“It’s just that Orji Uzor Kalu has a human heart aside politics to make the lives of his constituents worth living that he has gone out of his way to reduce the pressure of the harsh economic situation in our country”.
