The people of Nkwoachara Autonomous Community Friday, called on Abia state governor, Alex Otti to redeem them from the hands of those who never meant well for the community by giving their Eze – elect, His Royal Highness, Eze Okechukwu Nwaubani, staff of office.

The call came from the community people at a meeting held in Umunkaru Alaike in Umuahia North LGA, stressing that they have been in political and economic darkness for too long and are very eager to pull out that problem now they have seen sight of light.

They described their Eze – elect, His Royal Highness Eze Okechukwu Nwaubani as a kind hearted man who understands the need for infrastructural development and human capacity building.

Buttressing the point, a leader in the community, High Chief Prince Chinweotito Iteogu disclosed that as the chairman of the Parent Teachers Association, PTA of Orieamaenyi Secondary School, they came to the Eze – elect, requesting for his assistance in buying one mower for the school, stating, “but he did more than we asked for”.

“He gave us three mowers and promised to pay five thousand naira each to five youth corp members serving at the school for the duration they will serve in the school. This gesture shows his nature and that is what we want as a people”, Iteogu said.

Others, including Monday Ogwuru, Richard Adams, Paul Chikwendu, and Okechukwu Ukaeru collaborated what Prince Iteogu said, pleading with the royal father to further help empower the community youths to assist in reducing crime in the society.

They pledged their total loyalty while promising to stand by him at all times, stating, “We will stand by you through tick an thin, and will follow you to anywhere you are called. We unanimously elected you and we will not abandon you along the way. Before now you have shown that you have a good heart, our request from you is very simple: do not change”, they said.

Responding, the Eze – Elect, His Royal Highness, Eze Okechukwu Nwaubani, said he was overwhelmed by their support and words of encouragement, stating “I want to assure you all that I will not change, rather I will improve on what ever I have done that elicits this kind of support.

“I want to use this opportunity to call on those opposed to my emergence to sheath their sword and join hands with us to move Nkwoachara Autonomous community forward.

“I assure you that we will key into the agenda of our performing governor Dr Alex Chioma Otti, to move our community to the next better level.”

The meeting was attended by community members from Umuyota, Amuhie, Umuariam, Umuire and Umunkaru villages.
