The Young Progressives Party, YPP Abia Central Senatorial candidate in the 2023 general elections, Chief Chuku Wachuku Monday says massive economic empowerment and development will form the fulcrum of his constituency projects if elected come 2023.
Chief Wachuku disclosed this in his Mbawsi in Isiala-Ngwa North country home while interacting with select newsmen, stating “I am going to create policies that will create economic opportunities which will in turn create wealth”.
“I am going to put at least 500 people on industrial cluster per each local government and 250 people in agro-clusters in each ward to create millions of jobs.
“I will also put one private sector-drive mega industry in each LGA in the zone”, he disclosed.
Chief Wachuku who is a technocrat and former Managing Director, National Directorate of Employment, NDE said he will carry the youths along on his and will run an inclusive administration that will engage his micro and macro economic plans for the constituency.
As the senator, “I will attract more technocrats into the field so that we can reform the system”, he said.
At the Senate, he stated that the current insecurity in the country will be abated with job creaction which will engage and keep youths busy and away from vices.
According to him, he will champion full federation “which includes state police and which will go down to community policing”
He further stated that he will champion the release of the Indigenous People Of Biafra, IPOB leader Mazi Nnamdi Kanu who is currently under incaceration in the hands of the Directorate of State Security in Abuja.
Chief Wachuku said he was into politics “to serve the people and provide good governances to ourselves and provide them with dividend of democracy”.
On his chances of winning, Wachuku said based on his experience nationally and internationally, he is the best candidate for Abia senatorial district adding that by zoning, it is the turn of Umunneato (Isiala-Ngwa North, South and Osisioma LGAs) of Abia Central to produce the next senator, particularly Isiala-Ngwa North as others have taken their turns.
He further disclosed that he left his former party, Peoples Democratic Party, PDP for YPP due to a change in PDP that saw many candidates leave the party.
