A former Nigerian diplomat, Uduma Obuba Kalu was weekend, crowned the 19th Ezieogo and Ekpudiogba V of Amaekpu in Ohafia LGA.
HRM Obuba Kalu succeeded HRM Ezieogo Awa Nwankwo Mba, who peacefully handed over to him after being in power for some years.
HRM Ezieogo Uduma Obuba Kalu before his ascendance to his throne, distinctively served in various Nigerian foreign missions before retiring, and is an astute administrator.
He worked in Nigerian foreign missions in Sweden, Equatorial Guinea, China, South Africa, Spain and Switzerland.
During the occasion, the former Ezieogo, Awa Nwankwo Mba handed over both the crown and documents of office to the new monarch who is from the ruling compound in Amaekpu.
In his speech, the 19th Ezieogo and Ekpudiogba V, HRM Uduma Obuba Kalu promised to deploy his rich experience in public service in transforming Amaekpu Ohafia and appreciated his people for believing in him.
He promised to rule his people with mandate given to him by God and his subjects and called for their support at all times.
In his remarks, the Chairman of the occasion, Nze Uche Uche Ohafia (PhD) explained that the new Ezieogo hailed from Ndi Odike compound adding that he was among the four persons nominated by his compound and submitted to the elders council, Ikwua Abuo Nwogo.
Nze Uche Ohafia pointed out that the new monarch was on May 4, 2022, proclaimed the 19th Ezieogo and Ekpudiogba V of Amaekpu Ikwuano Abuo Nwogo Amaekpu at the compound hall.
