The people of Okoko Item in Bende LGA have explained why they conferred on Abia guber candidate of All Progressives Grand Alliance, APGA Prof Gregory Ibe with a grand award of excellence.
The community had on Monday 26 December 2022 presented the award during this year’s edition of the annual Okoko Item carnival.
The community had cited many social intervention programmes initiated and executed by Prof Ibe in the area as reasons for the honour.
According to members of Okoko Item Progressive Union, organizers of the carnival, many people from the area are beneficiaries of Prof Ibe’s free medical and surgical outreach, scholarship scheme and food distribution exercise.
Responding through the APGA candidate for Bende North state constituency Barr Ogbumba Ogbumba, Prof Ibe pledged to do more if elected governor, promising to rebuild the Umunnato General Hospital within the first six months of his administration.
According to him, APGA is repositioned to win state, hence the need to rally round the party to concretize the victory.
