Why I want to govern Abia, 2023 – GUU Pro-Chancellor

The rush to obtain Peoples Democratic Party, PDP card in the 2023 governorship race has stepped up with the Pro-Chancellor, Gregory University, Uturu, GUU Prof. Greg Ibe indicating his interest. 

Addressing party faithful at the party state headquarters Umuahia Wednesday, where he declared his interest to run, Prof. Ibe who is the founder of GUU said he wants “A new Abia that will ensure Abia State is placed on a higher pedestal which will benefit all and sundry”.
“My blueprint mirrors the 30-year developmental plan of Dr. Okezie Ikpeazu which will be synergized to achieve optimum outcomes for our home state of Abia.
“Despite lean resources, I have developed a formula which will see to sustained payment of workers’ salaries and pensions as and when due” he said. 
He assured that he will deliver on all his assurances.
Responding, the state chairman of PDP in Abia, Rt. Hon. Alwell Asiforo said Prof. Ibe is the third aspirant to have approached the party, assuring him that the party was going to continue to look at his presentation.
He pointed out that the party is committed to free, fair and credible election, adding “the most important thing is unity and the will of God.

Others who have declared their interest include Sen. Enyi Abaribe and Sen. Emma Nwaka.
