The Senate President, Ahmed Lawan Friday, commissioned two Nvurunvu road in Uturu, Isukwuato, two kilo metres Agbo Amaorji lodu Imenyi road, in Bende LGA, four kilo metres Ugwu Rubber Amaokwe road, including other projects within Abia North Senatorial district.
The road projects were attracted by the Chief Whip of the Senate and Senator representing Abia North Senatorial District, Sen. Orji Uzor Kalu.
Addressing the crowd at various points of the commissioning, Lawan acknowledged the importance of access roads to farmers to enable them transport and evacuate their goods.
While affirming that the roads would attract developments to their areas, Lawan urged the beneficiaries of the road projects to reciprocate what senator Orji Uzor Kalu has done for them at the appropriate time.
He applauded the Senate Chief Whip for putting the growth of his people at heart.
Earlier while speaking, the Senate Chief Whip, Sen. Orji Uzor Kalu appreciated the Senate president for assisting him in facilitating the projects and pledged to continue supporting him to perform better.
Senator Kalu also urged the Senate President to consider the request of Item people who requested for university of technology.
Lawan is also expected to commission other completed roads in different communities, renovated schools and boreholes in Abia North.
Notable among them is the Obi Chima Isikwuato, Umu Imenyi Bende and Amankalu Alayi roads.
Others are three boreholes in Agbaja, Amurie and Enugwu Nkporo, Ohafia LGA; 7.5KM road in Agbaja Nkporo, Ohafia LGA, Item, Bende LGA and Igbere, Bende LGA.
