As the state joined others in the country to celebrate 62nd Independence Anniversary, Abians have been enjoined to keep hope alive while praying for the emergence of a truly egalitarian Abia of their dream.
Speaking with Journalists in his Uturu country home, Prof Ibe who is the Abia state governorship candidate of All Progressives Grand Alliance, APGA promised to deploy every resources in eradicating the high degree of hardship currently confronting the people in the state.
He enjoined the good people Abians to “keep hope alive while interceding for emergence of a truly egalitarian Abia of our dream”.
“I believe this will be the last independence celebration our people will experience in pain as I promise to deploy all the available human and natural resources in eradicating the current high degree of hardship currently confronting Abians”, he said.
According to him, “Help is on the way as I am coming to wipe away their tears by leading them to a brand new state with limitless possibilities”.
Similarly, Gov. Okezie Ikpeazu of Abia State has thanked God for his benevolence, “especially at the trying moments that have bedeviled our nation and buffeted us from practically all sides”.
As this will be the last independence anniversary of his administration, Ikpeazu expressed his faith and confidence in the future of the country and believes strongly that the 2023 elections will mark a major turning point in the affairs of the country “in our march towards sustainable development”.
According to Onyebuchi Ememanka, his Chief Press Secretary, Ikpeazu called for prayers for “sustained peace” in Abia, “especially as we get ready to commence full blown electioneering campaigns”.
“The preservation of the peace and security of the people of our state must remain the major focus and that no ambition of any politician is enough to warrant or justify chaos and disorder in our state”, he advised.
