The All Progressives Grand Alliance, APGA Governorship candidate in the 2023 general election in Abia, Prof. Greg Ibe says he will develop the state through creative destruction.
Fielding questions from newsmen in his Uturu in Isuikwuato LGA country home, Prof. Ibe said, “My idea, what is in my brain is “creative destruction”.
“I destroy everything that is past and I create new things. That is why I am an inventor and I do things to create wealth.
“That is why I am also a Professor of entrepreneurship”.
Prof. Ibe who is the proprietor of Gregory University, Uturu further said, ‘My manifesto is clear. Local government by local government, you know what you are expecting.
“Before, it is “an Ngwa man will rule and develop Ngwa, an Umuahia man will develop Umuahia, a man from Igbere to develop Igbere and when an Uturu man comes, let him develop Uturu”. The answer is no.
The slogan is, “No child will be left behind, no community will be left behind, we shall develop our state simultaneously”.
“Why did I tell you “Creative Destruction”? I will give few examples. For instance, the national Sports Festival. Every time we will hear one particular state has taken all the cups.
“It cannot happen when I am the governor of Abia state. I am going to build stadiums in Ohafia, in Akara, Ohuhu, Owerrinta and Aba and I will develop youths that will go to the Olympic. I am not even looking at the states level.
“This is because I know that Abia is blessed with talents. I was a weightlifter in Imo Sports Council and I know how best I performed.
“When I was in Primary school in Enugu, I do 100 metres race and relay race and I did it in secondary school. Don’t mind the trouble of my surgery as a sportsman, but before you kill me, I would have killed five. That was our training as a weightlifter. so, creative destruction.
“When computer came, all the Secretaries in this world went on strike that employers want to sack them from job. The reverse is the case today. Wherever you have ten computers, you have a computer room, you have about ten persons working there, you have the maintenance officer, and you have the Sever Room.
“Did it create more jobs? It created more jobs. So, my creative destruction is to create more jobs that the hands of 44% of Abia youths will be on the deck and none of them will go home each month without their pay. That is creative destruction”.
