A non-governmental organization, Nmeri Foundation International, NFI in its efforts to assist in the reduction of hardship on Abians yesterday, offered to train 1000 Abians on technology and entrepreneurship free of charge.
The Abia-born founder, John Chinwenmeri said at Aba, Obingwa, and Umuahia locations the Abians will be trained through physical contact and online, stating it “aims to equip 1000 youths with in-demand skills, securing jobs and fostering entrepreneurship”, and “In support of Governor Alex Otti’s vision for a new Abia of great opportunities”.
According to Chimwenmeri who is the Chief Executive Officer of Blue Dot Multi Concept International Ltd, the program which he described as a groundbreaking initiative, is for Abia residents aged between 16 and 35 who are interested interested in information technology and related fields, as well as basic computer knowledge, futures Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Prompt Engineering, Software Development, Cybersecurity, Data Science & Analytics, Digital Marketing, and Video Editing.
The benefits of the project, implemented by Innovation Growth Hub, the Philanthropist said include, “free comprehensive training in tech and entrepreneurship, guaranteed job placement upon completion, contribution to Abia’s economic growth, Industry-recognized certifications, mentorship and networking opportunities, contribution to Abia’s digital transformation and development and empowerment to become job creators and leaders”, among others that will shape the future of the state.
He further pleaded with Abians to “gain valuable skills to boost your career, enhance your employability, join a community of innovators and entrepreneurs and contribute to Abia’s prosperity.
