The Atiku-Okowa Presidential Campaign organization in Abia Thursday concluded plans on how to secure victory for the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP Presidential candidate, Atiku Abubakar in the state.
This was as committees were formed for that purpose ahead of Atiku’s visit to the state in January, 2023.
Addressing members of the committee and others, the Abia State Coordinator of the organization, Chief Charles Ogbonna said the organization is also geared towards receiving the presidential candidate as well as mobilizing support and help for him to win.
He regretted the inability of party candidates in the state to carry Atiku along in their campaigns, posters and billboards and advised them to do so.
In his speech, an elder statesman and former Secretary to the State Government, SSG Eme Okoro noted, “there was is a solid reason to introduce the Presidential candidate to Abians.
“The occasion is to plan for positive result. The contest is easy. If Nigeria is a good country, Buhari did not qualify to be the President, especially over his academic reaults”.
He further advised, “The supremacy of the party is important but the supremacy of those who decide the supremacy of the party is more important”.
He noted that of all the parties in Nigeria, “APC cannot be compared with the PDP. APC has ruined the country, but we will fix it”.
He appealed, “Let us stay where we are and teach people where to be”.
Eme Okoro who said he was not anti-Igbo advised that “the Igbos don’t have the arithmetical number to produce the President, but has the capacity to ally with others. PDP is the home base of many politicians in Nigeria” and urged all to believe in the supremacy of the party.
Others who spoke, including Paul Chikezie Mba, Reginald Ezenta, Chinenye Ike, Rt. Hon. Emeka Stanley, and Rtd Navy Captain Chris Osondu, among others harped on the need the deliver Atiku, come 2023 elections to return the country to its former glory.
The state Commissioner for Strategic Communication and Documentation, Ugochukwu Emezuo, Hon. Lucky Akabuike and Hon. Kingsley Megwara disclosed that already130 support groups have identified with the campaign organization and expressed theie conviction that Atiku will win, come 2023.
