An Nvosi in Isialangwa South LGA, father of four, Chibuzo Michael Iheanacho has pleaded with Gov. Alex Otti of Abia State, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, and Nigerians of goodwill to come to the assistance of his 1-year old baby diagnosed with 4 holes in the heart and needs N23 m for surgery.

Chibuzo, 46 years old is from Iheanacho Onukaogu family of Umuekpo in Umuguru village, Ehi-na-Uguru Autonomous Community in Nvosi.

Making the appeal on Saturday, Chibuzo, who is a civil engineer, said his son, Kingsley Kosisochukwu Iheanacho, the fourth child, was born on my son on the 6th of September, 2025.

He disclosed, afterwards, we noticed some signs in him. The doctor, said that it is likely he is a mosaic (having two or more genetically different sets of cells in their body instead of just one uniform set).

“Then we ran some tests on him and doctors said everything is okay. However, while he was growing up, we experienced the way he was struggling with his health, the palpitation, the way his heart is moving and how he was struggling to breath sometimes.

“So, the doctors, then suggested that we carry out a heart test on him. So, we went to UPTH, University of Port Harcourt Teaching Hospital.

“There we ran some tests. And when it got to doing ECHO, that is the test used for checking the heart, the chief paediatrician referred us to another hospital, where we went to do the ECHO test. We did the test, ECHO, ECG, and then X-ray.

“So, the report came out and it was confirmed that he has four holes in the heart. Two at the upper part of the heart called ASD, one at the lower part of the heart called VSD and another one outside the heart at the valve leading from the heart to the lungs”.

After this, Chibuzo said, they were referred for surgery atRegions Hospital in Mgbirichi in Ohaji LGA of Imo State, where evaluation was carried out before the test is being done.

With a fresh ECHO test, X-ray, ECG, full blood counts, organ tests for kidney, liver, heart, etc. and other tests done, the problem was confirmed.

“They now gave him a choice for the surgery, which cost about N23 million”.

“So, knowing that we might not be able to afford that, we came back and continued speaking with them on phone and then managing him (Kingsley) with some drugs while trying to see how we can raise funds for the surgery”.

The surgery, he said will be done at Obafemi Awolowo University Teaching Hospital, Ile Ife.

Tearfully, Chibuzo, whose wife is a civil servant pleaded, “please brother Alex Otti, please my action and God-sent governor, come to the rescue of my son. I know God will give you the grace to help us”.

He further pleaded with President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, and all men of goodwill to come to the assistance of master Kingsley Kosisochukwu Iheanacho, informing that the hospital has confirmed that with the surgeries, everything will be okay.

He said he is reachable through his phone numbers and account number he made available to newsmen, pleading, “no amount is too small”.
