As the south east is now in 2025 yuletide mood, the All Progressives Grand Alliance, APGA South-East zone has urged for an immediate and joint action from the governors of the five south eastern states to flush out terrorists, armed herdsmen and violent criminal gangs from the southeast to make the region the safest in the country.

Members of the Party who made the call in a statement signed by its Vice Chairman South-East Zone Rev. Augustine Ehiemere and made available to newsmen in Umuahia on Thursday, noted that APGA, being the only true indigenous Political Party in Igboland, can no longer remain silent and watch the people of the region being wiped out, and therefore cannot rest until these elements are flushed out from the zone, namely, Abia, Anambra, Ebonyi, Enugu and Imo States and the entire country
The party recalled the recent viral videos of heavily armed militants boasting to have entered Igboland, including the brazen attack on Gov. Alex Otti of Abia State’s advance team on December 2nd 2025 along the Imo-Abia corridor, the daily killings and kidnappings in the southeast and informed that these, confirm the enemies presence in the bushes and forests in the south east.
APGA therefore, demanded the south east governors to, as a matter of urgency, convene an emergency security summit “to adopt a unified and aggressive regional security strategy to forestall future Security issues” in the zone.
The party also demanded for a deployment of reinforced joint Security patrols along all inter-state boundaries and highways across the region; and to replicate and improve upon the successful Anambra Vigilante model pioneered by Gov. Chukwuma Soludo across all the Southeast states, among others.
While commending President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and the National Assembly for amending the Constitution to allow the creation of state Police, as well as the appointing a distinguished retired Major General Christopher Musa as the Minister of Defence, the Party expressed its hope that with these steps, the era of over-centralized and ineffective policing by the Nigeria Police would soon be a thing of the past.
APGA therefore, called on every son and daughter of Igboland to stay vigilant in this yuletide and report suspicious movements immediately.
