In other to organize itself over 2023 general elections, Arochukwu LGA of Abia State Sunday, vowed to be relevant during the period.
Under the aegis of Oganiru Arochukwu LGA structure, the group decided to route for the development of the area through attraction of democracy dividend from party candidates and other humanitarians.
Addressing members of the organization in Abam, the founder and Board of Trustees, BoT chairman, Hon. Ifeanyi Umere described the organization as not partisan, “but for the welfare and development of Arochukwu LGA” in total.
Hon. Umere said he saw the need to uplift the welfare of his people as a politician and pledged to use all positions he occupies in the state and the federation to enhance the welfare and development of his Arochukwu people.
“My job now is to open ways for my people. This is not a party affair and Arochukwu people are now out to say it is enough.
“We are out to teach politicians lessons on how to treat their constituents.
“Since we are non-political, the structure will accommodate all candidates, irrespective of their parties and will come out with a choice at the end”.
Hon. Ifeanyi Umere was a one-time LGA councilor, Deputy LGA Chairman and Chairman of all Deputy Chairmen in the state and currently, the National Secretary in charge of the Directorate of All Atiku Support Group.
Hon. Umere is also the Secretary, All Igbo Youths For Atiku, and has in the past sponsored free medical treatment for his people.
Currently, he has more than 60 he had assisted financially and recently empowered four women in four wards of the LGA with the assurance of ensuring that at least one woman is empowered in the remaining wards in the LGA.
This he said will continue till December, 2022.
Between 1999 and 2000, Umere sowed school uniforms for students and financially assisted many.
In their various speeches, members of the structure, including Ozone Okoroafor, Isaac Moses, Eke Ogba, Ukukwu Vincent, Prince Onwubiko Otti, Kalu Ulu, and Udo Ukpabi expressed their excitement over the structure, stating, “this is the first structure in the whole of Arochukwu LGA where all parties are represented”.
They described the founder, Hon. Umere as “a leader with his people at heart and has been his brother’s keeper”.
“He is someone that is trusted, who represented and still represent his people very well.
“His name alone makes way for us” they said, disclosing that already, membership request is trying to overwhelm the structure as at date, assuring that the structure will be expanded to accommodate more members.
